Here are some solid tips on getting the most out of your prep work for CLEP tests:
- Select as many tests as possible in subjects you have familiarity with from your work or previous study experience. Some students have been successful taking 3 or 4 tests with only 20 hours of study time. An example would be an accountant taking math and algebra CLEP tests.
- Group your similar tests together so you can study for several at one time. Do computer applications and information systems tests together, for example. (The same holds true for DSST tests.)
- Take practice tests in each of your chosen subjects until you are able to score 80% on them. It will force you to prepare better and boost your confidence.
Remember that the work you need to do to pass CLEP and DSST tests will almost certainly be less than what you will have to do to take full length college courses in your chosen subjects. The tests are a great way to help you finish your degree faster.
