American Intercontinental University, one of the largest schools in the online degree world, has announced it will allow students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree to transfer up to 75% of the total credits required in from another college or university. Transfer credits at AIU are subject to approval, based on a minimum grade of “C” and proof that the courses relate to the degree being pursued – a fairly standard requirement of all transfer programs (though the minimum grade can vary). Credits for an associates degree at a previous school can often be taken in as a “block,” and the school will give credit, in some cases, for experience gained in the workplace.
For a student who is able to take advantage of the full 75% credit transfer toward a standard 180 credit bachelor degree program (taken on AIU’s quarterly schedule), only 45 credits would be required at AIU to complete the degree. More on AIU here.
